Application and solution of glue in LED lighting industry

LED lights are the most energy-efficient luminaires today, and they have been widely used in households, cities, industries, automobiles, aerospace and other fields. As the manufacturing base of the global electronics industry, China has accounted for half of the global LED industry development. It has formed a relatively complete industrial chain including the production of LED epitaxial wafers, the preparation of LED chips, the packaging of LED chips and the application of LED products.


In LED lighting products, adhesives mainly play the following functions: bonding, sealing, heat conduction, flame retardant protection, etc. The quality of the adhesive directly determines the safety and stability of lighting products, atomization and light transmission, aging and durability.

1. Introduction of glue for LED street light


Adhesion and sealing of mask, panel and frame


Substrate: PMMA or glass mask plastic panel with aluminum frame.


Requirements: high transparency, no yellowing; no corrosion of PMMA, good bonding between the mask and the aluminum frame, high thixotropy, and no sag. Aging resistance, good insulation performance. The stress is small, the hardness is moderate, and the elongation at break is more than 240%.


Thermal bonding between LED lamp particles and aluminum substrate


Requirements: good wettability, helps to fill gaps and minimizes contact thermal resistance; has excellent thermal conductivity; excellent electrical insulation; wide operating temperature: working temperature -50 ~ 200 ℃; high temperature does not dry, not oily;


Thermal potting of power supply


Requirements: excellent thermal conductivity; excellent electrical insulation; wide operating temperature: working temperature -50 ~ 200 ℃; no drying under high temperature, no oil flow; non-toxic, odorless, non-corrosive, and environmentally friendly.


2. Introduction of glue for LED guardrail


Bonding and sealing of plug PC and PC


Requirement: No corrosion to PC, development trend: ultrasonic process + UV glue; Recommended product: dealcoholized transparent one-component silica gel


Circuit board potting protection


Requirements: good sealing performance. Recommended product: transparent or milky white silicone

Requirements: small color temperature deviation, deviation ≤2000K; good adhesion, excellent sealing performance; good toughness of the adhesive layer, no cracking; no yellowing, good aging resistance.


Soft light strip plug bonding


Requirements: good adhesion, yellowing resistance and no aging; transparent color.
