There are several reasons for this unreasonable design:
Light source problem
A large part of 400W power used as high pole lighting source is high pressure sodium lamp 1KW high pressure sodium lamp. Its service life and quality are difficult to reach the nominal value of the manufacturer, especially for some small-scale manufacturers with low technical level. The problems such as loose head and arc extinction are serious and the service life is short, which can not meet the actual use requirements of users. Although some reasons are caused by supporting electrical appliances and improper use, it is an indisputable fact that the quality level of 1KW high-pressure sodium lamp is lower than that of high-pressure sodium lamp below 400W.
Problems with supporting lamps and electrical appliances
The working current of 1KW high-pressure sodium lamp is 10.3A, 2.2 times that of 400W, so the requirements for lamps are high, especially for lamp holders. At present, a large number of cheap lamps are sold in the domestic market. There are few special lamps designed for 1KW high pressure sodium lamp, and a large number of lamps are produced for American standard 1KW metal halide lamp (M47) (because eight American standard metal halide lamp production lines are introduced in China). Although the lamp power is 1KW, the working current of M47 metal halide lamp is only 4.1A, which is less than the lamp current of 400W high pressure sodium lamp, Therefore, such lamps have relatively low requirements for lamp holders. Generally, M47 metal halide lamps can be used with such lamps without any problems. However, when such lamps are used with 1KW sodium bulbs, the lamp holders are frequently burned due to poor contact due to high temperature and high current. In addition, this kind of fault has a great relationship with their supporting electrical appliances. M47 metal halide lamps can only work normally if they are equipped with CWA (LC peak leading) ballasts, The ballast has good current stability. When the power supply changes by ± 10%, the light power change is less than 10%. The high-voltage sodium lamp ballast is equipped with an inductive ballast. When the power supply voltage rises to+10%, the light power rises by 24-26%, and the ballast with poor linearity can reach 28-30%. In places with high grid voltage, it is not surprising that the 1KW high-pressure sodium lamp has arc extinction, short life, and burning of the lamp holder. As a result of the above reasons, the failure rate of the lighting system of 1KW high-pressure sodium lamp in the high pole lighting application remained high, which was unacceptable to users. Even the design of the high pole lighting that had been put into operation was changed, and 1KW lamps were replaced with 400W lamps. This not only increased the one-time investment, but also increased the operating cost, because the 400W high-pressure sodium light efficiency was only 120lm/w, while 1KW could reach 130lm/w, It takes 2.7 400W lamps to replace a 1KW high-pressure sodium lamp and ensure the original design illuminance, which is a must.
A new type of light source - 600W high luminous efficiency high-pressure sodium lamp is used as the high pole lighting light source. The lamp is produced by Philips, Osram GE and other large companies. See Table (1) for the main parameters. From Table (1), it can be seen that the luminous flux of the lamp is up to 90000lm, the luminous efficiency is up to 150lm/w, and the average life is 28000 hours. The luminous efficiency and average life are much more than the ordinary 1KW high-pressure sodium lamp. The luminous flux is close, and the working current of the lamp is only 5.8A, Ordinary 1KW lamps and better 400W lamps (600W lamps and 400W lamps have the same overall dimensions) can be installed and used without the above-mentioned problems, which is more in line with China's national conditions. Table (2) is a comparison table of power consumption costs for high pole lighting operation using various light sources and different electrical appliances. It can be seen from Table (2) that under the same illuminance, 600W high luminous efficiency high pressure sodium lamp is used as the high pole lighting source, with the lowest operating power cost, compared with the design scheme using 400W light source. 6700-7000 kilowatt hours of electricity can be saved every year, and 2700-2800 yuan of electricity cost can be reduced, which has good social and economic benefits. Light weight: the weight of NG600 ± 2L ballast is about 9.0kg, while that of NG600Z-F is 6.5 kg. The weight of two ballasts is 13 kg, which is about 4kg more than that of NG600 ± 2L. It can save a lot of copper, iron materials and transportation and packaging costs. Energy saving: It can be seen from Table (2) that the power consumption of the ND600 ± 2L ballast is about 80W, the power consumption of the NG600Z-F is about 50W, and the power consumption of the two ballasts is about 100W, which can save about 20% of the electricity. In addition, if a smart board is equipped, the NDND600 ± 2L electrical box can automatically switch to the working state of a single lamp when a lamp is damaged, and automatically identify the damaged bulb, which is convenient for maintenance.
