How to deal with waterproofing of outdoor street lights

Time:2023-12-12 Views:705

At present, outdoor street lamp waterproofing is mainly divided into two directions: structural waterproofing and material waterproofing. Structural waterproofing is to improve the structural protection performance of the lamp body, so that it can cope with harsh outdoor environments; And material waterproofing refers to leaving a space for sealing electrical components with adhesive during product design, and using adhesive materials during assembly to achieve waterproofing. The specific methods for waterproofing outdoor street lights are:

1. Waterproofing at the inlet line hole

The inlet and outlet of outdoor street lights are the easiest places to get water, so the screws and nuts in this area must be tightened in place. The inlet and outlet lines cannot be easily pulled out, and can be fixed using methods such as zip ties and glue. If the lighting fixtures are to be buried underground or used in water, then they are all bottom outlets, and in situations where the lamp body is relatively soaked by water, the sealing force of the inlet line must be increased.

2. Glass gluing waterproofing

For those with glass rubber rings, first apply a small amount of uniform waterproof glue to the fixed groove of the rubber ring, the edge ring of the lamp body, or a little inside the lamp body to increase the compression sealing performance of the rubber ring when it is locked; For those without glass gaskets, directly apply waterproof glue to the groove of the glass gasket at an angle to the edge.

3. Cover the rubber ring with screws for waterproofing

First, consider fixing the rubber ring. Generally, the lamp body does not have a rubber groove, and the thickness of the rubber ring and one side without screw holes should be fixed inward; If the lamp body has a glue groove, apply a small amount of glue evenly around the groove and fix the glue ring first; For lamp bodies with inadequate structural waterproofing, it is necessary to evenly apply some glue on the surface and side of the rubber ring and the edge of the lamp body.
