Compared with conventional renewable energy, solar energy is an ideal renewable energy and an extremely important type of renewable energy. The main way to develop and utilize solar energy is through photovoltaic power generation, which has a permanent energy source that is noise free, pollution-free, accessible and inexhaustible, and clean. Without geographical restrictions, it can be unmanned, with a short construction cycle, and a large degree of freedom in scale design. These advantages are incomparable to conventional power generation and other power generation methods. China is one of the countries with abundant solar energy resources in the world, with a total annual radiation amount of 917-2333kwh/m2. Areas with annual sunshine hours of over 2200 hours account for more than two-thirds of the national land area, with an annual radiation amount of over 600MJ/m2. The annual solar energy absorbed by the surface is equivalent to 17 trillion standard coal, which is about the total power generation of tens of thousands of Three Gorges projects. The utilization of solar photovoltaic power generation has enormous development potential in China, and energy conservation and emission reduction have become a consensus in the world today. It can be seen that vigorously developing solar photovoltaic power generation has profound significance in reducing carbon dioxide emissions and mitigating global climate change.

There are two main technological approaches to the utilization of solar photovoltaic power generation, namely off-grid photovoltaic power generation and grid connected photovoltaic power generation; Off grid photovoltaic power generation also includes solar street lights, solar courtyard lights, wind solar complementary street lights, solar traffic signal lights, etc. The solar street lighting system mainly uses sunlight as its energy source, which is charged during the day and used at night. It does not require complex and expensive pipeline laying, and can adjust the layout of the lamps arbitrarily. It is safe, energy-saving, and pollution-free, does not consume conventional electrical energy, does not require manual operation and maintenance, works stably and reliably, saves electricity bills, and is suitable for road lighting in residential areas, villas, parks, squares, and other public places. Especially suitable for installation in remote mountainous areas with inconvenient transportation and areas where it is not convenient for rivers to access electricity. At the same time, solar street lighting is increasingly becoming an indispensable part of urban beautification construction, with broad market prospects.
